Not only do you need to finish college, but you need to have pretty good grades to be competitive for pilot training. Either branch requires that you finish a four-year degree and commissioning program prior to attending pilot training. You might consider looking into rotary-wing aviation. The Army has programs that allow you to enter as a Warrant Officer Candidate for Army Aviation. The opportunity to transition to fixed-wing aircraft is limited but might be there after flying Helos for awhile.
