Why is everyone so upset with the Bachelor's Jason for breaking up with Melissa?

I mean, come on.......the fact of the matter is that the dating venue in the Bachelor is hardly "normal". Once the season ended and Jason was free to have a monogamous relationship with Melissa, maybe she wasn't at all who she appeared to be during the the filming of The Bachelor. Maybe her parents were creepy (after all they were a little elusive during the "meet the parents" episode) and after getting to FINALLY meet and know them, maybe Jason was just too cly to come out in public and say just how strange they really are. Lots of things could have happened subsequent to the season finale that led Jason to believe that marriage to Melissa wouldn't have been a good choice. Obviously something did change in how Jason ultimately felt about Melissa and I really don't think that he was just being a "player". Give him credit for at least being honest with her. It took a lot of courage to do what he did.
