Transfering college credits between nationaly accredited school to regionally acredited school?

I recieved my ociates degree in respiratory therapy from a nationally accredited technical college. I was recently accepted into a regionally accredited university and have been having some trouble getting my credits transfered. Is there a way that I can challenge the universitys policy of only transfering up to 10 credits from a nationally accredited school? The respiratory program that I went through was worth 67 credit hours and represents 2 years of going to school fulltime. Not to mention the respiratory school at the university is accredited by the same agency as the respiratory program at the nationally accredited school. I was able to p the credentialing exam that is required for any respiratory therapist without any problems. Please give me guidance in this situations as having to go through school all over again makes me feel a bit sick.
