My dentist ruined my mouth and is costing me 8k?

A month or two ago I went to a new dentist. I told him I was moving in a couple weeks and needed to get a cleaning. He got me in fast, and then told me I needed all this work done. So we got the work done and maxed out our insurance. After he did the work, I was in 10 times more pain so went to a new dentist to see why. He said most of the fillings that the other dentist had done needed root cs, and that there are cavities where the other dentist said he had filled them all. Currently I have had 6 root cs, 2 caps, and more to come. Total it will cost me OUT OF POCKET 8,000 dollars because of maxing out the insurance. Is this cause to sue for negligence?
