I have a cold and sore thort........?

i can barley breathe through my nose, i have to breathe though my mouth...i lips get dry when this happens, what lip balm would work to stop this, my vocal chords.....feel like they are on fire.... what can soothe this or hopefully kill this pain?..... [ive tried the tinted burts bees lip balm in the past but had an allergic reaction, breakout on lips.... if i buy the regular and use that will the same thing happen] thanks
