Could someone track you down using your IP? How easy is it to get someone else's IP from an IM on yahoo?

Could someone who I sent a message to on Yahoo Messanger find out my IP? Someone with serious computer knowledge? If so, could they use that IP to find out information about me or my location based on that IP address, even if I have a wireless connection?
