Best friend a control freak?

I grew up with this kid who at the time seemed cool we liked the same music, played in a band, genuinely had a lot of fun well over the years he's gotten moody or downright unfriendly if i didnt follow HIS advice or get into HIS kind of games/movies/cars what even ordering a different kind of food than him and i get attitude, i've really grown tired of it. i mean he seems to want a carbon copy of himself really a friend. any advice on how to deal with him
